RESOLUTION N0. ~~2 S:~
WHEREAS, selection of Hisao Kimura, a resident of Waimea, as the
Outstanding Older American in Hawaii County of 1983, was announced
at the Hilo Lagoon Hotel in conjunction with Older Americans Month;
and
WHEREAS, on July 30 and 31, 1982, the Lions Club of Waimea held
their 22nd Waimea Fair dedicating the fair to Hisao Kimura, who has
unselfishly given his time and service to the Waimea Community, the
Imiola Congresional Church, Parker Ranch, and to the Lions Club of
Waimea, and was instrumental in organizing the annual Waimea Lions
Club Fair; and
WHEREAS, his community service includes his involvement with the
Boy Scouts of America, the Big Island United Fund drive, and the
American Cancer Society Crusade; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Imiola Congressional Church,
Hisao Kimura has served as clerk, moderator, trustee, deacon and
delegate, and currently serves as cemetery superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Kimura spent 46 years with the famous Parker Ranch, as
an agronomist and worked on a conservation program, cactus
eradication program, introduced new grass and legume to improve the
pasture performance, and is currently a consultant with Parker
Ranch; and
WHEREAS, Kimura is also a member of the Waimea Kawaihae
Community Association, the Hawaii County Committee on Aging, Parks
and Recreation Advisory Committee, Farm Home Administration
Committee and presently remains registered with the University of
Hawaii's Extension Service Tropical Gardening Course.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF.
HAWAII that it congratulates Hisao Kimura for being named the Big
Island's Most Outstanding Older American Male for the year 1983 and
wishes to publicly convey their thanks and appreciation for his
dedicated service to the Waimea Community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be instructed to remit a true copy of this resolution to
Hisao Kimura.
