HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 631 Draft 01 1980-1984~i~~. _ ~ U O RESOLUTION N0. as~g 8~ WHEREAS, selection of Toshiko Iwamasa, age 70, a resident of Waimea, as the Outstanding Older American Female in Hawaii County for 1983, was announced at the Hilo Lagoon Hotel, in conjunction with Older American Month; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Iwamasa specializes in feather and lei making, has contributed many volunteer hours to the University Extension and 4-H programs, and has taught sewing, cooking, grooming, corsage making, seed craft; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Iwamasa also volunteered for the Mothers' March of Dimes, the Cancer Crusade, the American Heart Association, is a member of the Senior Citizen Club, and has been an interpreter at the polls during elections; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Iwamasa attended 4-H forums in Seattle and Washington, D. C., and has toured Alaska and Japan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to Toshiko Iwamasa for being named the 1983 Outstanding Older American Female in Hawaii County, wishes her good health, and extends our sincere mahalo for her selfless contributions to the Waimea community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit a true copy of this resolution to Mrs. Toshiko Iwamasa. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 18th day of May, 1983. h,r.
