RESOLUTION NO. i~28 83
WHEREAS, Leanora Tong, Elementary Counselor, Ernest 8. DeSilva
School, has been named Elementary Counselor oP the Year for the
State of Hawaii by the Hawaii School Counselors Association; and
PIHEREAS, Leanora Tong is the first Neighbor Island counselor to
receive this statewide award; end
WHEREAS, Leanora Tong's numerous accomplishments as a counselor
have been recognized by students, colleagues, parents, and
administrators; and
WHEREAS, Leanora Tong's qualities as an elementary school
counselor have helped individuals by giving them "a good feeling
about themselves and their environment"; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her leadership and dedication in
seventeen years oP counseling, Leanora Tong hes elso found time to
devote toward community service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWATT that it extends its congratulations to Leanora Tong for being
named Elementary Counselor of the Year by the Hawaii School
Counselors Association.
8E IT FURTHER RE50LVE0 that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be
instructed to remit true oopies oP this resolution to Leanora Tong,
and to Lorraine M. Hora, President, Big Island School Counselors
Association; Edward Hayashi, Principal, Ernest B. DeSilva School;
Or. Kiyoto Mizuba, District Superintendent, Hawaii District Office
and Dr. Donnis Thompson, Superintendent of Education.
