HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 620 Draft 01 1980-19840 0 RESOLUTION N0. 620 83 WHEREAS, the Hawaii Nurses' Association, Hawaii District, will commemorate Friday, May 6, 1983, as National Nurses Oay with a series of health screening activities to highlight and dramatize the professional role of our Big Island nurses; and WHEREAS, similar events will be conducted by nursing organizations around the State and the Nation to improve the public's understanding of nursing, health care and health education; and WHEREAS, 1.6 million nurses in the United States compose by far the largest group of professionals in the health care field and are dedicated to the "diagnosis and treatment oP human responses to actual or potential health problems", which include the promoting of the patients' ability to caps with illness and adjusting to disability, and to identify, support and encourage the patients' strehgth and assets to enhance recovery. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R€SOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TH£ COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends to the Hawaii Nurses' Association and to the other American Nursas' Association members throughout the Nation Sn observance oP National Nurses' Day, wishes for success in their endeavor to promote the important contributions Registered Nurses have made towards the health and well being of our nation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clark of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Jean withington, President of the Hawaii Nurses' Association, Hawaii; and to Eunice Cale, President of the American Nurses' Association.
