The Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting authorization to replace their
current leased copier at Kamana Senior Center with a new leased medium volume
copier. During discussion on the referenced Resolution at the Committee on Finance
on July 7, 2009, I was asked to provide information on the cost of the multi-year copier
lease that is the subject of the resolution.
Copiers are procured individually because of the differing requirements for various
features to meet each office's needs. The Purchasing Division will not proceed to
obtain quotations and select a copier lease until the County Council has authorized the
administration to do so. Therefore, the exact amount of the lease is not known at this
time.
Based on the last few quotations that Purchasing has obtained, intermediate copiers
(7,500 copies per month) lease for $1,758 per year to $2,822.56 per year for five-year
leases. The leases typically include toner and maintenance. For more specific
information regarding the subject lease, I suggest contacting the Department of Parks
and Recreation.
