WHEREAS, the ninth production of "Old Hawaii on Horseback"
will be held an May 21, 1983, in Paniola country--Waimea, Hawaii;
and
WHEREAS, this gala affair includes a cast of 130 riders and
horses costumed and geared to portray our 19th cr«ntury ancestors,
as well as the Hawaiian Monarch era, descendants of early Big
Tsland ranchers, famous Hawaii cowboys, and missionaries; and
WHEREAS, this colorful entertainment spectacular, last
witnessed by 5,000 spectators in 1977, is tyre creation of Waimea
rancher Anna Parry-Fiske who effectively and efficiently serves as
the Pageant's writer, director, producer, and costumer; who
designs every costume, hat, and accessory; wha supervises the
making of each lei; who drills the riders and matches the horses;
and
WHEREAS, the. Hawaii Heart Association recognizes
Anna Perry-Fiske as thair biggest individual. contributor, as all
proceeds from the Pageants held in the past nave been given to the
Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 2T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCTL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in commemoration of this event and, more importantly,
in recognition of Anna Perry-Fiske for her unselfish, untfring and
dedicated efforts, exfiends its best wishes fcr another successful
Pageant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Ccunty of Hawaii
remit a true copy of this resolution to Anna Perry-Fiske.
