RESOLUTION N0. ~°~~ ~~
WHEREAS, Ivy I. Takemura will be honored today by the Lehua
O'Hilo Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA)
as their selection for the 1983 Woman of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, as an active member of the Lehua O'Hilo Chapter,
Miss Takemura served as its corresponding secretary, chaired both
the Ways and Means and Education Committee and worked on the
bulletin, scrapbook, publicity and enrollment event committees; and
WHEREAS, Ivy Takemura, a graduate of Cannon School of Business,
is presently an accountant with the County of Hawaii, Department of
Water Supply, and despite her busy schedule finds time to devote to
community activities, such as the Bunka No Izumi Cultural Club, the
Hawaii County Employees FCU, the Hilo Lioness Club, the Hoolulu U.E.
Club and is a Union Steward for Unit 13, HGEA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in recognition of Ivy Takemura's meritorious winning of
the Lehua O'Hilo Chapter of the American Business Women's
Association 1983 Woman of the Year Award, extends to her the
Council's congratulations and wishes fox continued good fortune at
the National Convention of the ABWA where she will be participating
in the 1983 Top Ten Business Women's ABWA Competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be
instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Miss Ivy I.
Takemura; Misty Taylor, President of the Lehua O'Hilo Chapter, ABWA;
and William Sewake, Manager, Department of Water Supply.
