RESOLUTION N0. 59~ ~~~
NIHEREAS, Mr. Hardy T. Hirano, Big Island Union Agent for the
Hawaii Government E~aployees Association for the past 17 years,
retired on February 28, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Mx. Hirano's career with the Hawaii Government
Employees Association began as a clerk and spanned over 31 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hirano's unselfish and dedicated service will be
long remembered by all who have gained from his expertise in union
representation; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his contributions as Union Agent for
nearly 40 years, Mr. Hirano has helped organize and coordinate many
athletic activities through the Wanderers Rthletic Club,
particularly in boxing and baseball.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUIJTY 6F
FIAWAII that it extends its heartiest congratulations to Mr. Hardy T.
Hirano on his well-deserved retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that he be encouraged to continue his
work with the youth and civic organizations of dur community.
BE IT FURTHER RE50LVED that the Cierk oP the County of Hawaif
transmit a true copy of this Resolution. to Mr. Hardy T. Hirano and
his wife, Margaret..
