County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii
Resolution
WHEREAS, 10 percent State grants and 75 percent U. S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants .are available for
planning, design and construction of certain wastewater
management projects; and
WHEREAS, a Resolution of the County Council is required to
authorize application for such State and EPA grants; and
WHEREAS, such State and Federal grants are necessary for
the planning, design and construction for the Kapehu Wastewater
Treatment Facilities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the County Council that the
Mayor and Managing Director be hereby designated as the duly
authorized representative of the County of Hawaii in making
application for such State and Federal grants; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor or Managing Director
be hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary
in the processing of applications for such State and Federal
grants so that the County of Hawaii may properly qualify for
such grants;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor or Managing Director
be hereby authorized to accept such State and Federal grants;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hawaii will pay
its share of the planning, design and construction costs and
will provide proper and efficient operation and maintenance of
the project after its completion.
