Comm. 363: NOTICE OF HS&EDC MEETING ON JULY 1, 1997 FROM
1:00 - 2:30 P.M. TO HEAR THREE SHORT PRESENTATIONS ON
TREE FARMING IN HAWAII COUNTY (INFORMATIONAL MEETING
ON THE FOREST INDUSTRY)
From HS&EDC Chair John Ray, dated June 17, 1997,
informing of the above.
Scheduled to attend are representatives from Hamakua
Timber, which is currently farming thousands of acres
of eucalyptus trees in the Hamakua area. They will
give a presentation on general forestry practices as
well as the specific practices they currently employ
in Hamakua.
Management Consultant Tommy Crab and Bishop Estate
Senior Land Manager Peter Simmons have also been
requested to provide their perspective and knowledge
on the tree farming industry.
