RE- County Purchase of Steam Vent Property for Use as a Cultural Center
Dear Councilwoman Naole and Administrator RJ Hampton:
Please inform County of Hawaii officials that they have been well advised to administer
the purchase of that very special property known as the "Steam Vents" currently
considered an ideal site for the establishment of a Hawaiian cultural center.
As the steward of the adjacent property, previously called the "Steam Vent Inn & Health
Retreat," now referred to as "The Kingdom of Heaven," I submit to you that neglecting
this opportunity to act in the best interests of the Hawaiian people, as well as tourism,
would be a serious mistake.
This property has "County Park / Recreational Land / Natural Wonder" written all over it.
For this reason I encourage you to do everything in your power to secure title to this
property as soon as possible for the sole purpose of protecting its natural splendor as an
educational park and cultural treasure.
