RE: A Bill for an Ordinance to Amend Chapter 15 of the Hawaii County Code by Adding an
Article Relating to Dog Parks
Please find attached a bill for an ordinance to amend chapter 15 of the Hawaii County Code by
adding an article that would provide for the establishment and regulation of County dog parks.
The attached bill establishes the foundation to allow the director of the department of parks and
recreation, with the approval of the council, the ability to set aside a portion of a County park as a dog
park, or to create a park to be used exclusively by dogs and their handlers.
Please place this matter on the appropriate committee agenda for the next available meeting of
the Council's committees.
