This economic downturn is the time to maximize the $3.5 to $4 million dollars per year to best
advantage. Land sales have fallen up to 29% (WHT- MLS statistic). Now is the time to buy! The
county can use an Open Space Bond and use the 2% funds to pay the principal and interest payments to
buy land at no additional cost to the County or taxpayers.

action=edit&post=13. Our treasured lands can beset aside to enjoy forever. We can use these lands as a
basis for a sustainable Eco-tourism industry to create new jobs for unemployed people. More

Currently there are 3 properties listed with real estate brokers for sale: Kaiholena and Pao'o in Kohala
(273 acres along the shore that would protect the reef and fishing) and the Puapua'a property (9 acres
along Ali'i Drive) in Kona. All of these sites have significant cultural sites and burial areas. All of these
can be acquired with the 2% land Fund money and matching funds.
