The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity to educate the Council on the rules and regulations governing hemp, the pros and cons of pursuing a hemp industry, the history of hemp production in the State and the current status of the hemp industry in Hawaii, Representatives David Tarnas and Cynthia Thielen will share their perspectives on Hemp and the Hemp industry. They and eleven other Representatives introduced House Bill No. 284 which called for agronomic research of Hemp by the University of Hawaii. Other individuals and agencies have also been contacted to participate in this discussion. Submits information provided by Mr. Roger Christie an~9 other documents that may aid in the understanding and review of this matter.
