AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 00-64,AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2000 TO JUNE 30, 2001.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'L•
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 00-64, as amended, Relating to Public
Improvements and Financing Thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2000 to June 30,
2001, is hereby amended by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Lanikaula/Manono Traffic Signals -Federal $2,200,000

SECTION 2. Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
Federal Grants Receivable $2,200,000
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 00-64 to increase appropriation for the
Lanikaula/Manono Traffic Signals - Federal (110-399-5392.40-115) project in
the amount of $2,200,000 from $565,000 to $2,765,000. Original appropriation
included design, utility, and right-of-way costs; increase to include
construction costs. Work to include the installation of a new traffic signal
system, construction of additional turning lanes, concrete sidewalks, and
drainage facilities. This project will be 1000 federal funded.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The project is on the FY 2000 Statewide Transportation Improvement
Program (STI P) list for construction. The PS&E package for the
construction of the Lanikaula/Manono Traffic Signal project, Federal-Aid
Project No. STP-2770(3) was approved on May 1, 2000. The Federal
Highway Administration (FHWA) authorized the advertisement of the
project.
