Subject: In favor of Bill 66-09 relating to cell-phone ban, at the Public Safety and Parks i ecredtion°-"
Committee (PSPRC)
Dear Council Members
I strongly support Bill 66-09.
You should see people coming home from work, wheeling around the corner from Waikoloa Road to
Paniolo at enough speed to rock their truck, with one hand on the cell phone and the second hand
waving at political sign wavers, and tooting their horn with their third hand. This only leaves the fourth
hand for steering, when we all know that you are supposed to drive with at least two of your hands on
the wheel.
I don't think it will stop people who's brain isn't engaged in the first place, but it will stop the responsible
drivers, and we are out here. That alone will help safety.
