Subject: Lack of "Sunshine in Hawaii"
As a concerned citizen, I strongly oppose the move to discuss the recent "restructuring of
the Council" and the subsequent suit filed by West Hawaii today in closed, executive
session.
To do so is to perpetuate the problem. What we need - all of us, regardless of east or
west residency - is more open government. There has been too much "behind the scene
action!" After all, we are not discussing items of "National Security" ala the Bush
technique of hiding the truth from the public.
Now is the time for clear, open communication.
I vehemently request that the items on this week's agenda be discussed in open session.
