Comm. 454.08: From Jim Lightner, President, Kona Traffic Safety Committee,
dated October 15, 1997, stating their concern that the enforcement
of the revisions to the Hawaii County Code relating to Advertising
and Signs may require a substantial amount of the Police
Department's time, should they be responsible, thereby reducing
the amount of time available for traffic enforcement. Therefore,
suggests that consideration be given using administrative
procedures to enforce the ordinance to the extent practical in the
Public Works Department, which they understand could be similar
to those in place for enforcement through the Humane Society.
Comm. 454.09: From Legislative Auditor Connie Kiriu, dated December 31, 1997
