RESOLUTION N0. 800 8a)
WHEREAS, Stephen Benjamin "Stemo" Lindsey, Jr., won the 1983
All-Around Cowboy title at the Hawaii Professional Rodeo Cowboy's
Association State Finals held at New Town and Country Stables,
Waimanalo, Oahu, November 27th; and
WHEREAS, this title is awarded to the paniolo with the highest
cumulative score at the State finals which includes the top ten
qualifiers in each of seven events held at sanctioned rodeos
throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, "Stemo's" consistent roping performances, coupled with
his winning performances in the calf roping and double mugging
events at the finals, gave him the necessary points to earn the
title; and
WHEREAS, this accomplishment is fitting recognition of his
professionalism and dedication and brings great credit to himself,
his fellow competitors, his family, his community, and Hawaii County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in recognition of this prestigious title of the State of
Hawaii's All-Around Cowboy, extends to Stemo Lindsey congratulations ~~,,'~

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii-
remit a true copy of this Resolution to Stephen Benjamin "Stemo"
Lindsey, Jr., the 1983 All-Around Cowboy, and to Bud Gibson, owner
of New Town and Country Stables, sponsors of the event.
