Dear Mr. Goodenow:
This is to acknowledge receipt of County Council Resolution 98-09 supporting the
passage of HB 345 regarding the postponement of the pilot program to publicly fund Council
elections on the island of Hawaii.
House Bill 345 did not survive the second crossover deadline. Thus, it is unlikely the
measure will be enacted during the 2009 legislative session.
There is the opportunity to ask the Legislature to reconsider this measure when they meet
in 2010.
