RESOLUTION NO. ~~.9 83
WHEREAS, Mrs. Fuyuko Nagata was chosen as the County of Hawaii
Outstanding non-supervisory employee of the year 1983; and
WHEREAS, this deserving honor was bestowed upon Mrs. Nagata at
an appropriate ceremony attended by her fellow nominees, friends,
relatives, colleagues and her bosses, on October 21, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Fuyuko Nagata began her career with the County in 1968,
and is presently the secretary for the Parks and Recreation
Department, Division of Elderly Activities, where she serves as the
payroll/personnel clerk for a staff of 120 part-time and full-time
employees, does all the clerical assignments, program recordkeeping,
filing, accounting, provides instruction and clerical training for
five different program sections, and serves as a program emcee for a
variety of senior citizen activities; and
WHEREAS, despite her busy. work schedule, Mrs. Nagata, in her
off-duty hours is a volunteer statistician and official for state
and county sporting events; is an artist, printer and letterer; is a
Japanese language interpreter, is a programmer for a variety of
major events and is credited with the conceiving of the present
bi-monthly newsletter for senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, in addition to these activities she is also a certified
first aider, a skill for which she is credited in applying to save
the lives of two elderly people; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to Mrs. Fuyuko Nagata
upon her selection as the 1983 Outstanding Non-supervisory employee
of the County of Hawaii, along with the Council's wishes for
continued future successes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is
instructed to transmit true copies of this resolution to
Mrs. Fuyuko Nagata, Mr. Milton Hakoda, Director of Parks and
Recreation and Mr. George Yoshida, Division Director of Elderly
Activities.
