HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 772 Draft 01 1980-1984'~ • ; O ~f County of Hawaii- - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, West Hawaii's tremendous growth experience during the past decade has forced government agencies to locate in temporary facilities and at times logistically inconvenient locations; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council has long recognized that Kealakehe is destined to play a major role in the centralization of government agencies in North Kona, especially in light of anticipated developments along the Queen Kaahumanu Highway; and WHEREAS, the Council appropriated $25,000 for a Kealakehe Civic Complex Master Plan centralizing primary County agencies and programs; and WHEREAS, the Master Plan will enable the State to set aside adequate lands for use by the County as well as encourage the State to locate their facilities in close proximity to the County's Civic Complex. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF, THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it requests the early completion of the Master Plan for a Kealakehe Civic Complex by the Administration. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State be encouraged to consider Kealakehe in their future facilities programs in West Hawaii. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit copies of this Resolution to the Honorable George R. Ariyoshi, Governor of the State of Hawaii and the Honorable Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
