RESOLUTION NO. 7S"I 83
WHEREAS, the Puna Soil and Water Conservation District recently
won top honors in the 1983 Goodyear Conservation Awards Program; and
WHEREAS, this annual competition among fifteen districts in the
State is sponsored by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in
cooperation with the National Association of Conservation Districts,
to recognize noteworthy conservation endeavors throughout the state;
and
WHEREAS, the statewide judging committee selected the Puna Soil
and Water Conservation District for its accomplishments in resource
management and named Mr. Tip Davis as the 1982 Outstanding
Cooperator; and
WHEREAS, Tip Davis and Alan Yamaguchi, Chairman of the Puna
SWCD, as a result of their achievements, will be awarded an
all-expense paid vacation/study tour to the Wigwam Resort and
Goodyear Farms in Litchfield, Arizona, in December 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it commends the Puna Soil and Water Conservation
District and Tip Davis for the honors they have deservedly earned
and wishes them continued success in the management and conservation
of our important natural resources.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
remit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Alan Yamaguchi, Chairman
of the Puna Soil and Water Conservation District, and to
Mr. Tip Davis, along with the Council's congratulations.
