RESOLUTION N0. X99 f32:
WHEREAS, on November 23, 1957, there was a marriage ceremony
at the Assembly of God Church in Webb City, Missouri, which
brought together Mary June Oliver and Henry Keonaona'alaonapua
Kahalehili in wedlock and featured hundreds of fresh Hawaiian
Plovers flown in by friends and relatives of the groom; and
WHEREAS, since then Reverend Kahalehili, a graduate of Hilo
High School who also attended Ohio State University, completed his
training far the ministry at Southeastern Bibi.e College and
returned to his native Hawaii to serve as minister at various
churches on Oahu, Maui and the gig Island; and
'WHEREAS, Reverend Kahalehili now serves as Pastor of Glad
Tidings Church in Hilo wherein on Saturday, November 20th, he and
Mrs. Kahalehili will recognize the twenty-fifth anniversary of
that marriage by renewing their marriage vows in the presence of
their children and his eangregation; and
WHEREAS, the Kahalehilis have made numerous compassionate
contributions of community service to those communities which they
have servetl and together have raised sixteen foster children while
on Maui and one foster Mo'opuna in Hilo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the Council and residents of Nilo extend to this
dedicated couple their heartfelt gratitude end appreciation for
the contributions they have made to this island community and wish
them wall on the occasion of their celebration.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of N.awaii
is hereby instructed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to
Reverend and Mrs. Henry K. Kahalehili and their family prior to
this memorable event.
