RESOLUTION NO. 8~8 84
WHEREAS, on April 17, 1984, our Big Island Volunteecs and
volunteer programs were accorded appreciation and recognition for
their outstanding humanitarian efforts towards the betterment of the
well-being of our people; and
WHEREAS, twenty-nine nominees were considered in five categories
namely, the Youth, Individual Adult, the Senior Citizen, the Most
Innovative Project and the Outstanding Organization, for the noble
purpose of identifying the people who have volunteered their time to
improve upon the quality of the delivery of human service for those
in need; and
WHEREAS, these participants by their worthy endeavors can all
deservedly be deemed winners as their actions did indeed produce
positive benefits to many segments of communities around the island.
NOW, THEREFORE,- BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its thanks to these dedicated and
compassionate volunteers for their generous services rendered and
wish them good health and luck in the continuation of their
humanitarian work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is
instructed to transmit copies of this resolution to Mrs. George
Ariyoshi, Event Coordinators Ms. Diana Kahler and Nancy Matsunami,
and Mr. Dexter T. Suzuki, of the Statewide Volunteer Services.
