RESOLUTION No. 884 84
tdHEP.EAS, i-lans Norman, rounder of Kamealoha Unlimited a
non-profit agency designed to fill the gaps in servicing the needs
of the handicapged, has been selected as one of twelve state-wide
nominees for the 1984 National Thomas Jefferson Awards; and
WHEP.EAS, the Thomas Jefferson Awards recognize members of our
community who have demonstrated unselfish dedication to humanitarian
causes; and
LJtiP:REAS, Hans Norman, is the Chairman of the County of Hawaii's
Committee on the Handicapped and an officer in eleven different
organizations that benefit the handicapped; and
WKEREAS, Hans Norman is committed and devoted to the
establishment of a handicapped activities center in Puna to better
serve the needs of the handicapped in our community.
N04J, THEREFORE, I3E IT RESOLVED TiY T'HE COUNCIL OF 1'HE COUN'PY OF
HA4IAII that it congratulates Hans I+ormara for being selected as one
of twelve state-wide nominees competing for the 1984 National 'T'homas
Jefferson Awards.
RE 1T FURTHER kESOLVED that the Council extends its deepest
appreciation to Hans Norman for his unselfish contributions to the
handicapped.
5E IT FUKTHEii RESOLVED that the C1erK of the County of Hawaii
remit a true copy of this resolution to Hans Norman.
