HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 883 Draft 01 1980-1984 O Q RESOLUTION No. 883 8~ WHEREAS, Frances Santiago a retired senior citizen from Laupahoehoe has been selected as one of twelve state-wide nominees for the 1984 National Thomas Jefferson Awards; ano WHEREAS, the Thomas Jefferson Awards recognize r_hose memt?ers of our. community who have demonstrated unselfish dedication to hutz~anitarian causes; and WHEREAS, Frances Santiago's unselfish dedication is exemplified Ly the countless hours volunteered tbr.ough the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) assisting mentally handicapped youngsters aG Kapiolani Elementary School and frail elderly patients at Hilo Hospital; and WHEREAS, Frances Santiago provides additional community service as a member of the auxiliary of the Young A1en's Institute, American Cancer Society, and March of Dimes. f~OW, 'THEREFORE, BF: IT RESULVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY UI' HAWAII that it congratulates Frances Santiago for being selected as one of the twelve state-wide nominees competing for the 1984 National Thomas Jefferson Awards. BE IT. FL`RT}iEit RESOLVED that the Council extends its deepest appreciation to Frances Santiago for her unselfish contributions to the elderly and mentally hanoicapped.
