OFFICE INFORMATION ONLY Meeting: April 18, 1984 Action: Council Chairman Yamashiro withdrew Resolution 882 at the April 18, 1984 Council meeting. Re: Res. 882 r e 18th day of County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, there are numerous residential subdivisions in Hawaii County located in the State Land Use Agricultural District which do not conform to the one-acre minimum lot size requirement; and WHEREAS, these subdivisions were in existence prior to the establishment of the minimum one-acre lot size provisions; and WHEREAS, a State Land Use Boundary Amendment reclassifying these areas as being within the urban district would be consistent with the actual use of the land; and WHEREAS, the real property tax structure places an unnecessary burden on these residential subdivisions presently situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it supports a State Land Use Boundary Amendment reclassifying non-conforming residential subdivisions from the agricultural to urban district. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it directs the Planning llirector to initiate procedures necessary for submitting the State Land Use Boundary Amendment proposal to the State Land Use Commission by April 30, 1984, and provide supporting testimony before the Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that true copies of this resolution be transmitted to Mr. Gordan Furutani, Executive Director, State Land Use Commission and Mr. Sidney Fuke, Planning Director, Hawaii County.
