'rJHEREAS, the Kohala High School "Cowboys" basketball team capped an
unbeaten season with a victory over Hilo High School. in the finals of the
Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Single Elimination
Basketball Tournament; and
IdHEREAS, L-he defending, champion "Cowboys" earned a second title in as
many years under the helm of head coach Joe Mattos and extended a winning
streak Co 26-0 in league play; and
WHEREAS, their stellar play throughout the season earned them Che
champianship as well as the respect and admiration of their fans, parents
and coL7uiunity; and
IilHEREAS, this accomplishment is fitting testimony to the memory of.
Ronald Hart, a friend, who touched their lives with inspiration and
guidance.

that it extends its congratulations to Che Kohala High School basketball
team and coach Joe Mattos for winning the 1954 BIIF C"r~ampionship and
wishes them well in the forthcoming State Tournament to be held at the
Blaisdell Arena, March 7-I.O.
