Resolution
WHEREAS, the Department of Hawaiian Homes Lands (DHHL) has
submitted its 1984 legislative package encompassing a wide range of
concerns significantly impacting native Hawaiians; and
WHEREAS, the proposed bills and resolutions address issues
relating to the building of multi-family units on residential lots,
developing alternative financing, contracting of water services,
transferring of homestead interests, mercantile licensing, and the
return of DHHL properties; and'
WHEREAS, the proposed legislation will enable DHHL to carry out
the mandate established by the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920
and better meet the needs of its beneficiaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
HAWAII that it supports the proposals
legislative package of the Department
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CO U1
that it urges the Legislature to give
the proposed legislation.

and Ms. Georgiana K. Padeken, Chairperson, Hawaiian Homes Commission.
