HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 013 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII xis©LUTroN RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENTS FOR TELEPHONE SERVICES. WHEREAS, the present competitive rates among long distance and pay telephone providers in Hawaii aze providing the County of Hawaii with an opportunity to reduce its telephone costs; and WHEREAS, the administration is presently soliciting rate proposals for a period not to exceed five (5) years for interisland, mainland, and Foreign long distance rates; and WHEREAS, the administration is presently soliciting proposals for a period of five (5) years for pay telephone concessions on County property; and WHEREAS, the administration is presently considering cellulaz phone proposals that will cover a period of two (2) years; and WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii: 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into agreements for interisland, mainland, and foreign long distance rates for a period not to exceed five (5) years; 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement for pay telephone concessions on County property for a period not to exceed five (5) yeazs; 3. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement for cellular phone rates for a period not to exceed two (2) yeazs; 4. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the above agreements. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Department of Finance. Dates at Hilo, Hawaii, this 19th day of Jarruarv 1999 .
