RESOLUTION N0. ~~1 8~ '
WHEREAS, Mr. Katsurni Nii of Hilo retired on January 1, 1484,
after 31 years of faithful and dedicated public service with the
State Department of Agriculture; and
WHEREAS, as the lay supervisor for the Meat Inspection Branch in
Hilo, Mr. Nii scheduled inspections of meat and slaughter house
operations throughout the Big Island, an unheralded but crucial task
which has ensured fully-inspected and properly graded meat for
consumers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nil's numerous admirable qualities, such as being
compassionate and genuinely concerned 'for the welfare of others and
his trustworthiness and unselfishness in all endeavors, made him
highly-respected by his seniors as well as subordinates; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nii played a very active role in union matters,
serving as the Unit 3 steward and as a member of the Negotiating
team of HGEA, and overall, was rated as a "superior" union leader.
NUW, THEREFOP.E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HR;•dATI that it extends its best wishes and congratulations on
compiling an outstanding career in public service, and wishes
Mr. Nii many years of good health and countless rounds of great
golfing in his well-earned retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is
instructed to transmit a true copy of this Resolution to Mr. Katsurni
Nii.
