RESOLUTION ND. 81~ 8~
WHEREAS, John U. Bellinger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of First Hawaiian Bank, has been designated as Hawaii's first
recipient of the Uepartment of Defense's PRO PATRIA Award; and
WHERENS, this is the highest award given by the National
Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an
official volunteer organization of the Defense Department; and
45'HEREAS, this recognition is bestowed only on the most select
group of the nation's business leaders who nave given unselfishly of
their time, talent and personal resources to foster community
support for the National Guard and Reserve Forces; and
WhIEREAS, this award is most aptly appropriate fur Mr. Bellinger
who serves as Hawaii's Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army
and chairs the U. S. Army Western Command Civilian Advisory Group.
NUW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEU BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HA4'IAII that it commends the National Committee for Employer Support
of the .Guard and Reserve for their choice and extends io
Mr. Bellinger their congratulations on the occasion of this
recognition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is
hereby directed to send a true copy of this Resolution to Mr. John
Bellinger and copies to the following organizations in which h2 is
affiliated; Hawaii State Committee for Employer Support of the Guard
and Reserve; Armetl Services Executive Committee, Chamber of Commerce
of Hawaii; Air Force Association; Hawaii Chapter, Association of the
U. S. Army; Marine Corps league; The Honolulu Council, Navy League
of the U. S.; and the Reserve Officer's Association.
