RESOLUTION N0. ~~s 83
tvHEREAS, the Council of the County of Havre ii is continually
seeking methods and providing guidance for the improvement and
beautification of our community; and
YlHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department, in concert with
the Council's emphasis against litter, has allocated resources and
intensified its anti-litter endeavors; and
WIiEREAS, Officer Julian Shiroma did initiate a public awareness
program consisting of house to house visits and numerous personal
contacts with surfers along our scenic Hakalau-Papaikou coastline;
and
WHEREAS, within two months, the Council already notices marked
improvement and public cooperation, especially along our 4-Mile
Onomea Scenic Orive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII 'that it recognizes and commends Police Officer Julian Shiroma
for his continuing actions in promoting beautification for the
County of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a copy of this resolution to Police Dfficer Julian Shiroma
and to Chief of Police Guy Paul.
