RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHURI'LING THE OFFICE OF THE i~fAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGRESlISNT WITH STATE
DSPARTl18NT OF ATTORNEY GENERAL CRIHS PREVENTION & JUSTICE ASSISTANCE DIVISION, PURSUANT
TO HRS 46-8, FOR A SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE 6XAllINSR COORDINATOR.
WHEREAS, State Department of the Attorney General has authorized funding to
hire a sexual assault nurse examiner coordinator to manage and coordinate this program.
The number of certified sexual assault nurse examiners will be increased each having
minimum of twelve in-service training sessions; and
WHBRSAS, the Funds provided by the State Department of the Attorney General are
derived from grants provided by the Federal government; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal
or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted
by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with
projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
BOW, THEREFORE BS IT RESOLVED BY THS COUNCIL OF TH6 COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Office of the Hayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the OeparF.ment of the
Attorney General, State of Hawaii, for a sexual assault nurse examiner coordinator
serving the County of Hawaii.
Bhp 1T P'tIRTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to
sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalF of the Office of
the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Chacter.
B6 IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police Department.
