Home My WebLink AboutRES 024 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FCn A VICTIM WITNESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Department ^f the Attorney General, has authorized funding for expenses to assist victims and witnesses in the judicial process; and WHEREAS, the funds provided by the State of Hawaii are derived from grants provided by the Hawaii State Legislatures end WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state yovernments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of `he powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funcs or other assistance in connection with projects being or to undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorize' enter into Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number 98-VW-4 with the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the Coun*_y of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement =_nc' any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor an? the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office cf. the Mayor, the Prosecuting Attorney, and the Department of Finance.
