WHEP—EAS, Congressman Bob Wilson, with 28 years of experience
on the influential Armed Services Co^_xaittee, will be conclu'ling his
long and dedicatee, puolic service on January 31, 1981; and
wIIERE,AS, Congressman Wilson, Minority Leader of the Armes, Services
Committee, following his visit to the United States western Cc and
{Pacific Area.) and the Rig Island in October, expressed that the Sig
Island could serve as a vital alternative site for absorbing a steadily
growing military force on Oahu; and
WHEREAS, Congressman Wilson has recognized the need to improve
the roads connecting Poha"culoa Training Area with the airports to
better service the military and because of his concern that military
growth and expansion on. Oahu shall eventually require an alternate
site, strongly favors Federal implementation for this much needed
improvement.
NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TFiE COLNTY OF
HAWAII that it expresses its sincere appreciation to Congressman Bob
Wilson for his enthusiastic su_rport for Federal assistance to unmade
the roadways linking Pohakuloa with the air_.)arts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that :he County Council hid Congressman
Bob 67ilson its fondest Aloha and best wishes u'Pon his reti.rei..ient
following a most distinguished, career in the U.S. Congress.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of iiawaii
transmit a true copy of this resolution to Congressman roti Wilson.
