WHEREAS, MUNEO SAMESHIMA has served the people of the
County of Hawaii as their elected North and South Kohala
Councilman during the, period December 6, 1976, thru December 1,
1980; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Councilman SAMESHIMA served
as a member of the Finance Committee, the Public Works Committee
and the Planning Committee; and
WHEREAS, "MOON" SAMESHIMA, the real property tax crusader,
will be remembered for his forceful and intense oratory on such
issues as real property tax inequities and governmental
improprieties, which he unceasingly championed for reform on
behalf of the taxpaying public.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that MUNEO SAMESHIMA is extended the appreciation
of the people of the County of Hawaii for his dedicated public
service as a councilman for the County of Hawaii together with the
sincerest best wishes of the Council in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to forward a true copy of this resolution
to MUNEO SAMESHIMA.
