RESOLUTION NO. 33.99
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND
OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR NINE (9) COPY
MACHINES
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year be
approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into amulti-year lease with the
purchase option for five (5) years for nine (9) copy machines, one for each district (North
Hilo, Hamakua, Waimea, Kohala, Ka'u, Keaau, and Pahoa), Criminal Investigation Division and
Kona Driver License; and
WHEREAS, due to the increased downtime caused by the present aging equipment,
the districts have had to tolerate many lost man-hours due to machine malfunction; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of these machines will reduce downtime, thereby
improving productivity and efficienty of employees and cost savings for the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement
with purchase options for the acquisition of nine (9) copy machines for the Police Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligation of the County under the terms of the agreement.
