Resolution
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii recognizes
that there is a serious housing need in the County of Hawaii;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii intends
to exercise its full power in a fashion that results in
the mitigation of the housing shortage in the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, one of the procedures in the process of
alleviating housing concerns is to make land available
for housing sites.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Planning Director immediately
begin the process of making County land, including the
area identified by TMK: 7-8-5:22 and adjoining lands, if
appropriate, amenable to future housing programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hawaii County Housing
Agency work in concert with the Planning Department to
seek the necessary resources to construct housing for the
people of Hawaii County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County
of Hawaii be instructed to transmit a copy of this reso-
lution to the Hawaii County Housing Agency and to the
Planning Department.
