RESOLUTION NO. 67
the designation of the "The Southernmost Community
States",has been bestowed upon the quaint town of
WHEREAS, over the past years, the residents of Naalehu have
combined their talents, labor and skills for the single purpose of
serving their community; and
WHEREAS, in the spirit of community service, the Naalehu
Community Club has been at the forefront by sponsoring the Annual
Fourth of July Carnival as a money-ra.ising project to help
subsidize the community acitivites of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,
Brownies, Pop Warner Football, Little League Baseball, Softball,
Roping Club and Fishing Club; and
WHEREAS, the Naalehu Community Club hao'contr.ibuted well over.
$8,000 to rehabilitate the rodeo arena and provide the county -owned
clubhouse with folding chairs and tables; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $3,OOO has been most recently budgeted
by the Naalehu Community Club to purchase materials to repair the
tennis court grandstand with the labor being provided by the
County's Department of Parks and Recreation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TI -M COUNTY
OF HAWAII that in recognition of their spirit of self-reliance
and their many years of service to the community, that the County
Council hereby express its thanks and appreciation to the members
of the Naalehu Community Club.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii.
be directed to send a true copy of this resolution to
Mrs. Leinaala B. Enos, President of the Naalehu Community Club.
