NOTE: On October 30, 1980, via telephone, Councilman Kawahara instructed that Resolution 664 be filed. He informed that when he is ready to bring up this matter again, he will introduce a new resolution. Re: Res. 664/PWC-206 County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council has just received the Final Environmental Statement and Section .4(f) Statement for Hawaii Belt Road, Holualoa to Papa; and WHEREAS, this project is planned to be connected to the south end of the Kuakini Highway Realignment Project in the vicinity of Kealakowaa Heiau; and WHEREAS, this southward extension to approximately the City of Refuge Access Road is highly necessary due to the increasing traffic in the South Kona district. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it supports and urges the implementation of the project from the Kuakini Extension to Honaunau at the earliest possible date. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Ralph Segawa, Division Administrator of the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Region Nine, Hawaii Division.
