RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TH6 OFFICE OF THS MAXOR TO 6NTRR INTO AN AGRE6MBNT WITH STATE
DHPARTMRNT OF TH6 ATTORNEY GRN6RAL, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A COMMUNITY POLICING GRANT.
WH6RRAS, State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice
Assistance has authorized funding to increase police-community partnerships in crime
prevention programs and problem solving; and
WH6RRAS, the funds provided by the State Department of the Attorney General are
derived Erom grants provided by the federal government; and
WHRRRAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal
or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted
by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with
projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
NOW, THRRRFORS B6 IT RRSOLVRD BY THR COUNCIL OF THR COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Department of the
Attorney General, State of Hawaii, to increase police-community partnerships in crime
prevention programs and problem solving.
BH IT FURTHRR RRSOLVRD that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to
sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of
the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
B6 IT FURTHRR R6SOLVRD, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police Department.
