G:19 X WHEREAS, Hawaii Tribune -Herald reporter Eugene Tao was recently honored by being selected to participate in a seminar on "Freedom of Speech, the Press and the Electronic Media", to be conducted at the University of California at San Diego, in La Jolla, California, from July 21 through August 15, 1980; and WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Humanities, a sponsor of the seminar, has selected a deserving applicant in Eugene Tao, a professional reporter who is highly respected by his colleagues and the public; and WHEREAS, he will be exchanging thoughts and ideas with a selected group of fifteen (15) participants in a field of executives and on -the - street reporters in this seminar; and WHEREAS, the selection of Eugene Tao is an honor not only for the County of Hawaii but our State as well. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it hereby congratulates Eugene Tao for this well-deserved selection and wishes him continued success in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities as a reporter for the Hawaii Tribune -Herald. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to transmit a true copy of this resolution to Mr. Eugene Tao.
