WHEREAS, the 'Family Team' which is a close-knit softball
team is comprised of several generations of the Sanchez' clan
and their close friends from Honokaa and is also an active supporter
of Brantley Center; and
WHEREAS, Alfred Sanchez, the founder and senior statesman of the
'Family Team', serves as the coach and the inspirational force in
its expanded role in the sponsorship of the Little Miss Honokaa
Pageant; and
WHEREAS, the Pageant, in addition to inspiring community partici-
pation and pride, has raised $1,000 for Brantley Center from the
2nd Annual Little Miss Honokaa Pageant in May; and
WHEREAS, `Family Team' hopes to expand the success of the Little
Miss Honokaa Pareant so it can also initiate a Honokaa Hirth School
Scholarship fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its warmest Mahalo and congratulations to
'Family Team' for undertaking this invaluable community service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that 'Far:ily Team' realize its dream of
seeing the Little Miss Honokaa Pageant continue to grow and blossom
in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
send copies of this resolution to Mr. Alfred Sanchez and also to
the 'Family Team'.
