A RESOLUTION RELATING TO COUNTY GOVERNMENT DAY.
WHEREAS, April 18-24, 1999, is National County Government Week; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this national event is to provide citizens with a better understanding about
their County government functions; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai"i County Council believes it is in the public's interest for both the executive and
legislative branches to collaborate in this civic effort; and
WHEREAS, as part of this alliance, the Hawai"i County Council will invite students, community groups
and county employees to participate in scheduled activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
requests Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro to proclaim Tuesday, Apri120, 1999 as "County Government Day".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Cotmcil of the County of Hawaii hereby designates up to $1,000
from the Clerk Cotmcil SVC OCE Miscellaneous Contract Services Accotmt No. 010-101-510 L02-115 to be
expended on Cotmty Government Day activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the County Clerk Al
Konishi and the Honorable Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro and all County Departments and Agencies.
