WHEREAS, at the recently observed 14th Annual Miss Hawaii
Filipina Pageant, which was concluded on April 19, 1980, at the
Hilo Civic Auditorium, Miss LiAnne Kehaulani Moku was crowned the
1980 Miss Hawaii Filipina; and
WHEREAS, enroute to this esteemed title, LiAnne Moku vied with
five other worthy contestants and won impressively, as she also
garnered the talent and popularity competitions; and
WHEREAS, Miss Moku, who is a sophomore at Hilo College and
aspires someday to own and manage a business establishment, will
enhance that dream as during her reign LiAnne will be making new
friends and meeting many people within the business community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to the 1980 Miss Hawaii
Filipina LiAnne Moku along with its wishes for a happy and successful
reign.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
is instructed to remit true conies of this resolution to LiAnne
Kehaulani Moku; her parents, Harris and Vivian Moku; her sponsor,
Apple Annie; and to the Big Island Filipina Community Council.
