RESOLUTION NO. 488
WHEREAS, JACK KATSUMI SUWA has been appointed Deputy Director
of the State Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, with this appointment, JACK completes 20 years of
government service as a member of our State House of Representatives,
including 10 years as Chairman of the House Committee on Finance;
and
WHEREAS, JACK SUWA has always been active in government and
community, giving service as a member of the 1955 Constitutional
Convention, Active Reserve and National Guard Military Service;
membership in Buddhist churches; the YMCA; Boy Scouts of America;
Civil Air Patrol; Puna Traffic Safety Council; the Kurtistown Young
Mens Association; and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it take this means to express its sIncere gratitude on
behalf of the County of Hawaii to JACK KATSUMI SUWA for his long,
continuous and devoted service as our First District Representative
to the State House of Representatives and to congratulate him on
his recent appointment as a Deputy Director with the State Department
of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a true copy of this resolution to the Honorable JACK KATSUMI
SUWA, Representative, First Representative District, State of Hawaii.
