RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SHE OFFICE OF THS MAYOR T6BATHRZATO AN AGREEMENT WITH STATE
ORGANIZED CRIME DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE THROUGH THE U.S. DBPARTMEbIT OF NSTICE DRUG
ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A OCDBTF GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force through the Drug
Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providing funding Eor expenses for overtime
and travel costs incurred during specific investigations and prosecutions;
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under the OCDEFT Grant; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal
or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted
by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with
projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
NOW, THHREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY TH6 COUNCIL OF TH8 COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the U.S. Department of
Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to
sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of
the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police Department.
