County of Hawaii—State of Hawaii
Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 10-9, Hawaii County Charter,
Appropriations: Reduction and Transfer, the Council by resolution
may transfer part or all of any unencumbered appropriation balance
from one agency to another; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council is very much concerned
about the tenuous health and safety conditions within the County
of Hawaii created by the strike situation of Unit I of the United
Public Workers (UPW); and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council is determined to take
every precaution necessary to protect the peace, life, property,
health, safety and morals of the community should an emergency
situation arise;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
OF HAWAII that the following amounts
as set forth below:

be and is hereby transferred
FUNDS.: GENERAL FUND
HIGHWAY FUND
SEWER FUND
AMOUNT: GENERAL FUND $ 120,000
HIGHWAY FUND 20,000
SEWER FUND 10,000
$ 150,000
OUT AND FROM: G-8541 Provision for Collective Bargaining
Salary Increase $ 120,000
H-8541 Provision for Collective
Bargaining Salary Increase 20,000
S-8541 Provision for Collective
Bargaining Salary Increase 10,000
$ 150,000
CREDITED TO: G-8551 Contingency Fund $ 120,000
H-8551 Contingency Fund 20,000
S-8551 Contingency Fund 10,000
$ 150,000
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these transferred funds are
to be used for emergency situations arising from the Unit I, UPW
strike. Unencumbered balances as of January 1, 1980, shall lapse
into the original accounts from which the respective transfers
occurred.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Herbert
T. Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii and to Mr. Stanley
Nakamae, Director of Finance.
